Benefits of Going Solar
Solar solutions harness Sun’s energy for our electricity, heating & cooling needs. They save electricity costs, and reduce our load on the grid ultimately helping the grid to reduce coal usage. But for heating requirements, instead of using electricity, using Solar thermal solutions that directly harvest heat from solar radiation are
easier and more efficient. Solar Thermal solutions can be designed for heating water for bathing & washing, heating air for drying
and for generating dry-steam for high temperature heating even for smelting metals.

Grid-Tied OR On-Grid Solar Power Plants
- By default, export excess solar-generation to the grid.
- Need special devices to prevent export to grid.
- Work only when grid voltage is available.

- Ideal choice when user wants to reduce energy bill but does not want to maintain batteries.
- Unit adjustment option (Units billed = Units consumed - Units exported) available only for residential users.
- Bill adjustment option (Net Bill Amount = Bill Amount for Units consumed - (Units exported * Rs.2/-approx)) for non-residential users.
- EB approval needed, since power is exported to EB grid.
Grid-Interactive Stand-alone Solar Power Plants
- Cannot export excess solar-generation to the grid.
- Need Batteries to store excess power.
- Solar generation & Battery backup available during the day & during power cuts.
- Suitable for Critical loads that require phased shut down.
- Inverter draws deficit power from EB grid, when load > solar generation + battery backup.
- Bill amount automatically reduced, as Solar generation is fully utilized.
- EB approval not needed, since there is no export to EB grid.
